The ideas of “heroism” and “bravery” come up a lot around Small Talk. They’ve really become a significant part of our vocabulary. These children are brave for telling about their abuse and brave for coming to counseling. They are heroes because by using their voices they protect other children.
It’s not just the children who exude these qualities, it’s our staff, our board, and our supporters as well. Recently MSUFCU has stepped up in a big way and have dedicated themselves to being heroes at Small Talk.
We want to give a huge thank you to the entire Joe Dimmick Memorial Foundation. In addition to the money they raise to fund scholarships for students to learn about insurance in college, they also make a yearly donation to a local charity. Small Talk was lucky enough to be the recipient this year and we couldn't be more grateful...
Back in September, General Motors chose us to be one of the recipients of their annual golf outing. We had two board members and our executive director there to help get people out on the golf course and support three very worthy causes.
MSU Greek Life was kind enough to choose us as a charity, benefiting the Safe Halloween event this year. Representatives from Small Talk will be there and we hope to see you there enjoying the free, fun events that MSU Greek Life is hosting.
